Formed in 1843, Hallidays – based in Stockport – has undergone substantial change over time, and on the 1st June 2019 decided to forge relations with over 150 proactive, like-minded accountancy practices, all with a focus of building the “Firm of the Future”.
“Hallidays is constantly looking for ways to take its business forward and improve the service to clients and work life balance for the team. This was therefore an opportunity we simply had to take up.”
Today Hallidays offers Growth & Support services focusing on ‘thought-leadership’ – challenging and inspiring clients to be the best they can be.
Using cloud technology as the industry moves towards “Making Tax Digital”, Hallidays has been on the cloud for nearly 8 years and is able to offer real-time support through the use of cloud accounting software.
Over 15 years ago Hallidays ditched time sheets recognising that a valued service does not need to be measured by time! In the last ten years the team has grown from 35 to 90 employees with over half their team members being female. The board being split equally. Hallidays has received over 7 national and local awards and is featured in the book ‘The UK’s Best Accountancy Practices in 2011’. Important services have been added such as Corporate Finance, this means Hallidays can support clients from start-up to exit, ensuring they maximise the value of their business and exit in the most productive way. Hallidays even went as far as setting up its own HR and recruitment service in response to poor recruitment practices. As part of Xeinadin, Hallidays will offer such services to fellow Xeinadin offices, whilst Hallidays will also benefit from services and specialisms offered within the firm that are not currently being offered by the firm.
The Board unanimously agreed to join Xeinadin to benefit from the expertise and specialist knowledge of hundreds of Directors, allowing Hallidays to serve their clients at a higher level. This allows Hallidays the opportunity to further grow its advisory service and develop its clients’ businesses. In addition, the move will allow Hallidays to attract larger businesses who have traditionally sought services from Top 10 accountancy firms.
Hallidays will continue using its reputable ‘Growth and Support’ brand and continue its focus on building SMEs and OMBs in the North West and surrounding areas. In a recent survey, Hallidays’ clients who attended their 2-year Business AM programme, improved their business by 29% by focusing on KPI management. As a result of these statistics, more local businesses are joining the business development programme.
